Paul Vitty

Welcare

Paul is responsible for volunteer management across Welcare including recruiting and training all new volunteers. He is responsible for maintaining effective support and supervision structures and has overall responsibility for all volunteers as well as giving direct support to those line managing volunteers. When Paul joined Welcare in 2012, the organisation had experienced significant cuts and faced an uncertain future with a handful of volunteers and no central structures or co-ordination of the volunteers or supporter activities. Paul created a Family Support Volunteer programme making volunteers a natural extension of our professional service. He introduced support structures, new roles descriptions and training programme. Paul’s expertise and dedication not only helped secure Welcare’s long term future but significantly increased the range of practical and emotional support we are able to give Children and Families. Thanks to his efforts Volunteering has become an integral part of the organisation. Our recent Investor in Volunteers Award stated for volunteers "It's a very nourishing environment. They value the volunteers in the same way that they value the clients."

In the past 12 months 200 volunteers have given over 3552.25 hours enabling Welcare to make a positive impact to the lives of 904 children and families.
