Chris Outram has chaired the Board of Trustees at Beat, the UK’s eating disorder charity, since 2011. When he joined the Board, Beat was a small charity with a solid reputation and enormous potential to achieve more. Chris encouraged bold thinking about where the charity might go, agreeing strategic investment to hugely and sustainably enhance what Beat can offer. Chris’s drive, tenacity and skill has taken a charity punching well below its weight to one that is raising larger gifts and helping far more people than ever.
Having personally witnessed the pain that eating disorders cause to so many, Chris Outram put his professional experience, his assets and his skill together as one big shoulder to the wheel to defeat eating disorders. In his time as Chairman, he has acted as spokesman, cheerleader and friend of the organisation. He has developed the skills and experience of the whole team, Board and management alike, encouraging everyone to play their best game and to feel empowered to do so. As a result of his tireless efforts, Beat is poised for an even better future.
