The Children's Society is a UK charity that has been working to improve the lives of vulnerable young people since 1881.

Public awareness of the vital work carried out by the charity was at such a low that swift action had to be taken to create a brand identity that would stand out amongst the increasing amount of charities clamouring for the public's attention and funding.

The new hard-hitting identity is based on the strategic concept of ‘hard truths’. The tough realities of individual children's stories serve as a platform to inform about the unavoidable facts of childhood hardship. The predominant force in the identity is a black and white brand world that creates confrontational compositions from which a narrative can be told through reportage photography, the written word or other content.
