During lockdown, crisis support charity Hestia and their national domestic abuse campaign UK SAYS NO MORE partnered with the General Pharmaceutical Council to implement Safe Spaces in pharmacy consultation rooms across the UK for victims of domestic abuse. to access support in a discrete way during lockdown. The partnership allowed victims to discretely access support using consultation rooms in Boots, Superdrug and Morrisons pharmacies as well as in independent pharmacies across the UK. The Safe Spaces scheme enabled victims to access resources such as contact numbers for specialist support services and information about domestic abuse. To date, a quarter of all pharmacies across the UK are now facilitating their consultation rooms as a Safe Space and giving a lifeline to those who need it most.
