Jewish Women's Aid supports women and children affected by domestic violence and abuse with short-term and long-term support. Our range of domestic abuse services includes immediate practical and emotional support, counselling, children's therapy and support groups. Our dedicated team of 140 volunteers, who are supervised and co-ordinated by a part-time member of staff are integral to the successful running of the charity. This committed and fully trained team are essential to the work we do in the community helping women and children. Our helpline is fully staffed by trained volunteers who are at the frontline of speaking to women experiencing domestic abuse or violence, trained counsellors voluntary provide counselling, they deliver educational programmes in schools, organise community awareness raising programmes, spearheaded by a team of specially trained JWA Ambassadors. We have a team of advisors and advocacy volunteers who support our clients in court and help them plan for their long-term safety and rebuilding of their lives. Specially trained volunteers have recently delivered a Community Sexual Harassment to major stakeholders in the Jewish Community and our volunteer events team organise fundraising events from coffee mornings to prestigious events at museums.
