Being able to respond rapidly to opportunities and innovate with new technology is an important part of the British Red Cross’ digital transformation journey. Recognising the behavioural shift that voice recognition technology brings to the way in which we consume content, we felt there was a real opportunity for us to innovate with our first aid information using the Amazon Alexa. We’ve built a first aid skill that allows users to ask Alexa for first aid information on a variety of scenarios and listen to advice. Whilst still only an early version of the skill, this is an exciting new area to explore, and a brand-new way for the British Red Cross to provide first aid information.
