The Deborah Hutton Campaign

The Deborah Hutton Campaign’s Cut Films project is a peer-to-peer early intervention project, which uses film, and social media to engage young people to make short adverts to persuade their friends not to smoke.

Each year 100,000 people die from smoking related illnesses in the UK.
Two thirds of young people take up smoking before they are 18.

We work in secondary and primary schools and youth clubs to support young people to gain skills in filmmaking, voice their opinion and ultimately to build the resilience to be able to say no to smoking. Over the last two years we have gone from no direct work to working directly with 4,000 young people in the last year.
