Social Enterprise at Aldingbourne

Aldingbourne Trust

The Aldingbourne Trust is an award winning Charity supporting over 550 adults with learning disabilities to live independent lives and developing skills leading to employment. Our flagship site is the Aldingbourne Country Centre based in Chichester, which is home to 15 innovative social enterprises from car washing - wood recycling – working on an Open Farm and many more. Last year we opened our first Charity Shop on the high street which not only provides an income, prevents unwanted items going to landfill but also provides volunteering opportunities for our clients.
Together we work hard to get the basics right, be brave, flexible and enjoy discovering people, places and opportunities which make a difference to people’s lives. We pride ourselves as winners of 2015 Observer Community awards – “Best local / Voluntary Charity group and continue to strive to build community partnerships.
Our values truly summarise our ethos which is to make a difference, offer real life opportunities, work together, listen, be enterprising, be mindful of environmental impacts reducing waste and becoming sustainable – all whilst having fun.
Our challenge is to help people with disabilities to be full active citizens and have good lives.
