Hogan Lovells

Hogan Lovells Aircraft Finance Practice undertook legal work involved in the purchase of London Air Ambulance's second helicopter. The trans-national transaction was done on an entirely pro bono basis. Their efforts were supported by a fundraising and awareness campaign by the firm raising over £150,000. This purchase allows charity London's Air Ambulance to reach a further 400 critically injured people a year. This project was part of the 30,100 hours of pro bono legal advice the London office has provided to charities and social enterprises.
London's Air Ambulance provides an essential trauma care service via their helicopter to critically injured people across London every day. However, there was only one helicopter to support Londoners and in 2015 that helicopter was offline, and therefore not operational, for over 60 days. The charity was running a campaign to raise much needed funds for a second helicopter in order to reach a further 400 critically injured people a year.
