Alastair Stewart OBE

Naomi House & Jacksplace

In 2014 we set out to rebuild Naomi House Children’s Hospice, and knew raising an additional £4 million on top of our £7 million annual target was a huge challenge. It was clear that we needed a figurehead for the appeal; somebody who had gravitas, passion and a commitment to our cause.

Alastair Stewart OBE had long had an association with Naomi House & Jacksplace, though largely remained on the periphery. Little did we know when he accepted the role of Caterpillar Appeal patron what a pivotal role he would play in the phenomenal success of the appeal.

Alastair arrived at the press launch of the Caterpillar Appeal and quite literally tore up the script; he didn’t need it. He spoke at length about the vital role our charity plays at the most difficult of times. There was laughter, there were tears and there was boundless passion and enthusiasm.

We knew we had chosen the right person to front one of our biggest campaigns to date.
