AITC Annual Report 2015-16

Albion in the Community

Albion in the Community (AITC) wanted a report which would successfully engage with fans of Brighton & Hove Albion Football Club and increase awareness of its work, encourage more people to fundraise for the charity and improve participation levels on its projects. It was also important for the charity to establish its participants, many of whom have a disability, as players in their own right – highlighting each individual’s potential and evoking a sense of pride in the charity on the part of the football club’s supporters.

The decision was taken to depart from the traditional, formal approach to an annual report and instead produce a retro football magazine-themed publication. The charity’s two-person PR team carried out all the work in-house and the result was an attractive, engaging and unique annual report which has introduced thousands of supporters to AITC’s wide-ranging work.

An initial print run of 3,000 copies was picked up by supporters and an online version has been read by around another 2,000 people.

The number of supporters fundraising for the charity has increased, participation at sessions has gone up and the charity’s disability football teams have seen a boost in interest among fans of the football club.
